Coffee? Tea? Breast Milk?

A Philippine Airlines flight attendant stepped up to save the day when a mother ran out of formula for her infant shortly after take off. Patrisha Organo, a 24-year-old flight attendant and first-time mom to a nine month old herself, offered to breastfeed the stranger’s baby.

Organo took to Facebook to write about the unique situation. “I heard an infant’s cry, a cry that will make you want to do anything to help,” she writes. “I approached the mother and asked if everything was okay… teary-eyed she told me that she ran out of formula milk.”

The flight attendant adds, “I felt a pinch in my heart. There’s no formula milk on board, I thought to myself, ‘there’s only one thing I could offer and that’s my own milk.' And so I offered.” The mother accepted and the three were escorted to the galley to breastfeed the baby. “The baby started rooting, she was so hungry,” Organo notes. “I saw relief on the mother’s eyes.”

  • Added bonus? On top of the heroic situation, Organo also passed a "check flight" evaluation on the trip to secure a promotion.
