Statement From Glynn County Police Department
On June 17, 2017 at 5:50 a.m. Glynn County Police officers responded to 108 Stafford Avenue in reference to a problem with a person call. The caller reported that there were four males loitering in his yard. When officers arrived, Charles Workman Jr. told the officers on scene that he had shot his father, Charles Lee Workman Sr. Officers located Workman Sr., age 65, lying on the livingroom floor with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Charles Workman Sr. was transported to the Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center / Brunswick Campus where he was pronounced dead.
Charles Workman Jr., age 23, has been charged with murder.
