Georgia Declared Under State Of Emergency

BRUNSWICK, GA I Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia has declared an official state of emergency in all 159 counties following a recommendation from officials with the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) officials. The action comes after the latest predictions in Hurricane Florence's path. State officials are staging emergency equipment across the state in preparation for the coming days.

“The state is mobilizing all available resources to ensure public safety ahead of Hurricane Florence,” said Deal,  adding "be prepared for the inland effects of the storm as well as the ensuing storm surge in coastal areas.”
