Kenneth Adkins has been found guilty on all eight charges in his child molestation trial. The jury deliberated less than an hour before returning the guilty verdict.
During closing arguments Adkins's attorney Kevin Gough said, ""When children are involved, it seems it’s easier to have a presumption of guilt than innocence, but that’s not the law. Why now in 2016 does he cry out? Does it really have anything to do with Adkins being a pastor or the homosexual relationship they have?"Adkins was offered a sentence of 5 to 30 years before the trial if he accepted a plea deal. He refused. With the conviction, he could face life in jail.
