Today is National Wear Red Day!

Helloooo, it's AC! This year, February 2nd is National Wear Red Day! Why Go Red? Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. So “Wear Red Day,” which takes place on the first Friday in February, was created to raise awareness and fund the fight against heart disease and stroke. That’s because 80% of cardiac and stroke events can be prevented with education and action.

Let's look at the bigger picture. It also happens to men. And children! High blood pressure runs in my family; therefore, I'm on specific meds to control my HBP. Shout out to one of my favorite people, Logan, who happens to have a heart condition. He doesn't seem to have it or show any physical symptoms, signs of it and that's because he's a warrior. AND..... he takes his medicine. Sometimes we're just born with it. Sometimes we transition into the unfortunate disease later in life. Either way, take care of yourselves. See your heart doctor. Save you. Save others!

By participating in events – and donating money – you help support educational programs to increase women’s awareness and critical research to discover scientific knowledge about cardiovascular health. Find out more at honor.americanheart.org.
