Georgia Pre-K teachers to get $1,000 bonuses

The next round of federal coronavirus aid will be providing $1,000 bonuses to state-funded pre-kindergarten and child care teachers in Georgia.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp had originally announced plans for bonuses for K-12 teachers only.

Georgia's Early Care and Learning Commissioner Amy Jacobs told The Associated Press that $65 million will be going towards bonuses. Pre-k and child care teachers will be included. The state will also continue to provide aid for private child care providers as it did in previous planning.
