Tropical Storm Isaias Slowly Approaching the Florida Coast

Sunday August 2 at 2 AM

While forecasters caution Tropical Storm Isaias could potentially re-strengthen into a hurricane, it hasn't yet. Isaias is expected to reach Florida Sunday morning, before tracking up Florida's East Coast and moving as far north as New England early next week.

The National Hurricane Center's 2 a.m. Sunday morning advisory has Isaias (ees-ah-EE-ahs) with maximum sustained winds of 70 miles per hour and about 70 miles east, southeast of Fort Lauderdale and 90 miles southeast of West Palm Beach. It's moving northwest at 8 miles per hour.
