As California has officially entered Stage 2 of reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic, the government is already gearing up for Stage 3. When the stages were announced, it was a toss up if Disneyland and the other theme parks would be part of Stage 3 or Stage 4, but it was just announced that Disneyland will be part of Stage 3. The OC Register reported that Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Universal Studios, and the other California theme parks are allowed to reopen during stage 3 according to Gov. Newsom's four-stage roadmap for reopening California’s economy. The stage 3 reopening could happen in just a matter of a few weeks and Gov. Newsom says California could move on to stage 3 in June. Even though theme parks are considered higher risk businesses, they're allowed to reopen in stage 3 as long as proper health/safety protocol and the limit capacity/gathering size is taking place.
Disneyland still hasn't announced a reopening date, but because of the governor's announcement and since Orange County has now moved into a full stage 2 reopening, it's giving fans hope. As of right now Orange County restaurants can open diving rooms for in-person dining and retail stores can open in-store shopping.
